Bagless vs Bagged Vacuums

Please consider the following points

1) Bagless vacuums rarely trap pollen and fine particulates as effectively as vacuum cleaner bags. Most bags capture pollen and particulates down to 5 microns in size. Some bags even reach 3 microns! So if you are health conscious or have allergies a vacuum cleaner with a bag makes a ton of common sense.

2) The cost of bag ranges from about $1.00 to $3.50 and most home users consume 4 per year. So do you really save much money by not buying bags? $4 to $14 per year. Filters on bagless machines will easily cost you that much annually and probably substantially more.

3) Bagless vacuums use multiple filters that frequently (twice per year on average) need to be replaced. These filters range from $1.50 to $29.95 for molded HEPA filters so you are likely to spend more money on filters on a bagless machine than on bags in a bagged machine.

4) Have you ever emptied a bagless machine? IF so you know you need to be about 100 feet from anything you do not want covered in dust. NEVER EMPTY THE DUST CONTAINER INDOORS.

5) Some filters (the sponge type) are washed and reused but the more expensive HEPA filters that clean the exhaust air you breath are more expensive and typically not washable.
